Zares - nova politika (or, usually, Zares) is a center-left party, founded in 2007 as the result of the defection of six MPs from the SDS. The word zares is Slovene for "really" or "in earnest"; nova politika, unsuprisingly, means "new politics", so the whole thing is a kind of promise (or threat), "truly new politics".
In the 2008 parliamentary elections the party won 98,526 votes or 9.37% of the total and 9 seats, becoming the third-largest party in the Assembly and a part of the unofficial center-left governing coalition, along with the SD and the rump LDS. It is a member of the Liberal International and strongly supports the European Union.

The party's flag is orange with its logotype, the words "zares" in white and "nova politika" smaller in black, next to it and shifted upwards, like an exponential. The location of the logotype varies; on a vertical table flag, it is near the bottom, on a vertical, fullsize flag, near the top. The party may also use horizontally hoisted flags. It does appear to use orange banners with a large white "z," at least at party functions.
The shade of orange in Zares logos online is kind of a dull burnt umber, but on the actual flags the color can be a bright fire orange.
